MATTIE ELIZABETH PALMER

Mattie Elizabeth Palmer, 100, a resident of Morgan City and native of Donaldsonville, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 3:42 a.m., at her residence.
Visitation will be observed on Friday, May 13, at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Dr. C. F. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow services in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer was one of the oldest citizens in Morgan City.
Memories of this centenarian will forever remain in the hearts of her three daughters, Mrs. Herman (Brenda) Murray of Patterson, and Nancy Campbell and Mrs. Terry (Sharon) Dardar, both of Morgan City; eight stepchildren, who called her ‘Montay”, Ronald Campbell and Raymond Campbell, both of Morgan City, Glen Campbell of Boston, MA, Henry Campbell and Levi Campbell, both of Franklin, and Craig Hall of New York; Wanda Lowery of Morgan City and Carol Newmeister of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, five children, two grandchildren and one brother.
