RANDY M. MAYON

April 22, 1969 - October 31, 2015
Funeral services celebrating the life of Randy M. Mayon will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton. He will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hodnett and Rev. Dr. Chris Holloway will conduct the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Little Pass Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again Thursday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Egbert “Bert” Mayon Jr., Paula Mayon Doré, Blake Romero, Mike Picard, Larry Carline, Howard Tabb Jr., and Carroll Michel Jr.
Randy, the youngest child of Egbert and Amanda Mayon, was born on April 22, 1969, in Franklin and was a longtime resident of Charenton. He was an avid outdoorsman. Some of his passions in life were fishing, boating, and riding his 4-wheeler and motorcycle. He also enjoyed mechanic work, fixing up and customizing cars, and going to the movies. Randy was a generous person with a big heart and touched the lives of many people. He would often help people that he came across broken down on the side of the road. If he couldn’t fix their vehicle he would offer to tow them in, and never wanted anything in return. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his brother, Egbert “Bert” Mayon Jr. of Charenton; his sister, Paula Mayon Doré of Jeanerette; one niece, Jessica Lynn Romero and her husband, Blake, of Jeanerette and their children Gabriel Egbert Allen Romero and Lillian Romero; two nephews, Devin James Mayon of New Iberia and Sage Michael Reed of New Iberia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Egbert Mayon Sr. and Amanda Joan Sauce Mayon; one nephew, Timmie Doré Jr.; one niece, Monique Nicole Doré; his paternal grandparents, Leonce John Mayon and Octavia Verret Mayon Nope; and his maternal grandparents, Joseph Sauce Sr. and Elmire Daigle Sauce.
