Rita Mary Babin LaCoste

December 29, 1925 — June 27, 2014
Rita Mary Babin LaCoste, a native of Bayou Boeuf and resident of Morgan City, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at the age of 88.
Rita leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Brenda Topham and her husband, Garrett; one sister and best friend, Flo Derise; four grandchildren, Robin Aucoin and husband, Darrell, Shannon Pellerin and husband, Ryan, Gabe Topham and wife, Bobbie Jo, and Casey Falgout and husband, Michael; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sgt. Ernest J. LaCoste; her father, Ulyses Babin; her mother, Aline Hymel Babin; half-sister, Ann McKinney; brother-in-law, Hilton Derise; nephew, Kenneth Derise; and niece, Gwen Derise Thompson.
Visitation was observed today, Monday, June 30, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Morgan City. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nathan Rush officiating. Rita was laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
