RUTH M. CROSS

Ruth M. Cross, 98, a native of Gibson, LA and resident of Morgan City, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., at the Iberia Manor South Nursing Center in New Iberia.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, November 28, at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Morgan City, from 11 a.m. until funeral services 1 p.m. Dr. C. F. Smith Sr. will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
One of the oldest and faithful members of the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, her favorite saying was, “My God is a Rolling Stone, He’ll roll away your troubles and ease your worried mind.”
Cherished and divine memories of “Mother”, as she was known, will forever be remembered by a step daughter, Beatrice Cross of Morgan City; and one sister, Jeanette Daniels of Franklin; and a host of family members with more than six generations of grandchildren; as well as several other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, five sisters and four brothers.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to the nursing staff and administration of the Iberia Manor South Nursing Home. Mother left a wonderful legacy and will be greatly missed.
