VIRGINIA SHIELDS

Miss Virginia Shields, 88, a resident and native of Baldwin, died October 26, 2015, at 11:45 a.m., at her home.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Paul Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include five sons, James Tibbs and Harold Shields, both of San Francisco, CA, Elwood Shields of Opelousas, Raymond Shields of Baldwin and Winston Shields of North Little Rock, AR; one daughter, Dianne Simon of Beaumont, TX; three brothers, Willie Shields of Franklin, Warren Shields of Houston, TX and Joe Louis Shields of Baldwin; two sisters, Katie Little and Virvia Shields, both of Baldwin; and 12 grandchildren.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
