WILFORD RICHARDSON

Wilford “Wil” Richardson, 78, a resident of Metairie and native of Verdunville, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at 1:21 a.m., at his residence.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church, 1424 S. Dilton in Metairie, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Dale Sanders Sr. officiating.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Wilford was a retiree of Bellsouth Communications. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, “going to the country,” and spending time with his family.
Wilford now leaves his legacy of love and reconciliation with his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Hawkins-Richardson of Metairie; two daughters, Ursala R. Richardson of Metairie and Carmen M. Pearson-Richardson of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren; one brother, Westley Richardson (Georgia) of Galveston, TX; three sisters, Annie Mae Anderson of Texas City, TX and Cordelia Richardson and Orelean Bias Richardson, both of Dickerson, TX; two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; four godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones and dear friends.
Wilford was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
