Services for Yolanda Brown have been scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Rhema Bible Church, SDC-1 Building in Broken Arrow, OK. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home, Broken Arrow. The family will greet friends on Friday, May 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Yolanda Marie Brown was born in New Orleans on Saturday, July 1, 1961, the daughter of Clifton Davison and Gloria Gibson. Yolanda passed away in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was 54 years of age.
Yolanda grew up in Four Corners. She was raised in St. John’s Baptist Church and baptized by the Rev. Aaron Marks. She was a 1979 graduate of Franklin Senior High School.
Yolanda was attending Louisiana State University when she met Larence “Larry” Brown. On December 17, 1983, in the very same Baptist church where Yolanda Was baptized, she married the love of her life, Larry. Yolanda graduated from Rhema Bible College in 1991. She was a homemaker, but also worked as Department Head in Jewelry for some time. Yolanda was a wonderful wife, a loving mother to Loren Renee Brown, Loriel Nicole Brown and Larissa Lynette Brown; a caring grandmother to Kaibre Tray Harris and Kaden Dean Brewer; and an aunt to Barron Lionel Davison whom she helped raise.
Yolanda is survived by her husband, Larry Brown of Broken Arrow, OK; daughters, Loren Renee Brown of Broken Arrow, OK, Loriel Nicole Brown of Broken Arrow, OK; and Larissa Lynette Brown of Thailand; grandchildren, Kaibre Harris and Kaden Brewer; her mother, Gloria Gibson; siblings, Barry Neal Davison of Baton Rouge, Barron Keith Davison of Four Corners, Shawn Davison of Lydia, Greg Davison of Baton Rouge and Gena Davison of Lydia; nephews, Barron Davison and wife, Lawanda, of Broken Arrow, OK and Ronald Courtney DeRousselle of Louisiana; great nephew, Barron Jr.; and other loving family and friends.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her father, Clifton, and niece, Porsha Jackson.
Hayhurst Funeral Home in Broke Arrow, OK is in charge of arrangements.
