No. 7 Patterson High School advanced to the Class 3A quarterfinals with a 21-6 victory against No. 10 seed Loranger Friday in Patterson.
Patterson High School clinched an outright District 9-3A title Thursday with a 41-6 victory against Franklin High School in Franklin. The Lumberjacks concluded the regular season with a 7-3 mark, including a 4-0 record in district. Patterson now will await their postseason seeding and opponent. Patterson must keep its focus in Thursday’s finale against winless Franklin with the outright District 9-3A championship on the line.
Central Catholic and Patterson were the area's Week 9 winners on the football field.
Central Catholic High School defeated Lafayette Christian, 17-7 Thursday in District 7-1A action in Morgan City. The Eagles’ Stefano Guarisco, above with the football, took over at quarterback for Blake Byrne after Byrne went out of the game with an injury, according to Central Catholic coach Tommy Minton. The Eagles will return to action Oct. 31 when they host Metairie Park Country Day

Central Catholic honored its seniors before Thursday night’s game and head coach Tommy Minton said all of them contributed to the Eagles’ hard-fought 17-7 win against Lafayette Christian Academy.
