Central Catholic High School’s T.J. Ruffin hits a pitch during Monday’s Class 1A
quarterfinal contest between the Eagles and Ascension Catholic. Ruffin drove in the game-winning RBI on a double in the top of the 10th inning for a 2-1 Central Catholic victory. The Eagles will return to the field Friday when they face St. Edmund in the Class 1A semifinals in Sulphur in a 5 p.m. contest. (The Daily Review/Geoff Stoute)

In a game featuring multiple heroes on both teams at different junctures of the ball game, it was Central Catholic’s Mr. Clutch who proved to be the biggest of them all.
