Central Catholic's High School and Junior High School volleyball programs gather with Debbie Acosta of Oncologics for a check presentation prior to Thursday's varsity volleyball contest with Houma Christian. The players raised $2,082 through a variety of ways, such as T-shirt sales and securing sponsorships. The money raised will go to the St. Mary Parish Louisiana Foundation for Cancer Care/Oncologics and Miles Perret Cancer Services and will be used to help those in St. Mary Parish battling breast cancer. Central Catholic High School fell to Catholic High of New Iberia 21-0 Friday in the final game of the Kiwanis Clubs of Opelousas and Lafayette’s 2nd Annual Gridiron Football Jamboree at St. Thomas More. Catholic High of New Iberia dominated Central Catholic in a 21-0 victory in the final game of the Kiwanis Clubs of Opelousas and Lafayette’s 2nd Annual Gridiron Football Jamboree at St.
Football practice fields are at a standstill, but not for long. Practices will start soon and the first day in pads is set for Aug. 10. Area high school teams will begin with jamboree action.
