Arrest reports

Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Nicholas Brison, 25, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Monday for red light violation and on a warrant for attempted felony theft over $500.
While on patrol, a Morgan City police officer observed a vehicle traveling west and through a red light without stopping on La. 182 at Myrtle Street. According to the affidavit for his arrest, Bison is accused of attempting to commit the theft of a roll of wire valued at $1,325 from a local business on Dec. 3. Brison remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Jermaine Small, 33, of West Third Street, Franklin, was arrested at 2 p.m. Monday on a warrant for simple assault and telephone harassment. Morgan City police were contacted by the Franklin Police Department to notify them that Franklin had Small in custody and that he could be arrested on the Morgan City warrants. Small remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Pearl Ross, 29, of the 200 block of North Verret Street, Amelia, was arrested at 9:43 a.m. Monday on a warrant for hit and run, failure to report an accident and possession of open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle. Ross turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. The warrant stems from an investigation into a hit and run crash on La. 182 in Amelia Dec. 28. Dispatch relayed a description of a male and female who fled the area on foot following the crash. The male, Troy Carnley, was arrested shortly after the incident. Ross was released on $2,500 bail.
—David J. Billiot of Lafayette was arrested at 3:46 p.m. Monday for theft (over $500). On Dec. 29, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft that occurred at a business on Siracusa Road in Siracusaville. Working with video surveillance, the detective identified Billiot along with two others as suspects in the theft in which the trio took items from the yard that could be sold as scrap. Billiot was released on a summons to appear in court on March 28. This is the third arrest made in this case.
—Tonya Wade, 39, of the 1300 block of Ches Broussard Road in Lafayette, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Sunday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Wade was jailed and released on $500 bail.
—Nicole Benedietto, 30, of the 11400 block of La. 182 West in Franklin, was arrested at 9:27 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of contempt of court, speeding, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in the Patterson area made contact with the driver, Benedietto. Benedietto was jailed and released on $324.50 bail.
—Jacob N. Klenert, 19, of the 500 block of Teche Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Sunday on two warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Bail is set at $100,000.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Cyrus Gray, 56, of the 1700 block of Harry D Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:11 p.m. Friday for simple arson. Gray set fire to a vehicle. No one was injured in this fire. Gray was jailed.
—Kalynn Jackson, 24, of the 7200 block of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:54 p.m. Saturday for suspended driver’s license and failure to yield with an accident. Jackson was released on her own recognizance.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Tracy Silva, 49, of Halsey Street in Amelia, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Friday on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for theft. Bail is set at $5,000.
