Patterson falls in four

The Patterson Lumberjills fell 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 23-25, 16-25) to Catholic High of New Iberia in District 2-IV play at Patterson Tuesday.
Patterson had eight aces and 10 blocks in the win.
Arian Grogan led Patterson with two aces, nine kills, one dig and five blocks, while Erykah Singleton had nine kills and five blocks.
Other top contributors included Tapanga Haven, three digs and 12 assists; Madison Paul, two aces and five digs; Morgan Jones, two aces and four digs; and Katelyn Larson, one ace and five digs.
Patterson (5-11 overall, 0-3 in district) will return to action Thursday when it continues district play at David Thibodaux. Junior varsity action will begin at 5:30 p.m. with varsity to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Berwick tops Franklin
The Berwick Lady Panthers defeated Franklin 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-9) in District 8-III volleyball action Tuesday in Berwick.
Berwick had 15 aces and 31 kills in the win.
Ashton Morales led the squad with five aces, seven kills, one block, 10 assists and seven digs, while Mary Jordan Melancon had four aces, three kills, one block, nine assists and six digs.
Other top contributors included Sydney Aucoin, eight kills and one block; Madeleine Hover, five kills and two assists; Rosalyn Gros, five aces and five digs; and Brittany Roberie, five digs.
In junior varsity action, Berwick won 2-0 (25-8, 25-11), while in freshman play, Berwick won 2-0 (25-11, 25-16).
Berwick (9-10, 2-1) will return to action today when it travels to face E.D. White. Freshman action will begin at 3:30 p.m., while junior varsity will follow at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 5:30 p.m.

Morgan City fell to Vandebilt Catholic 3-1 (25-27, 18-25, 25-20, 14-25) in District 8-III action.
Morgan City had six aces, five blocks and 86 digs in the loss.
Kennedy Hebert led the squad with two aces, 12 kills, two blocks and 17 digs, while Abby Reynaud had three aces, one kill, 17 assists and 13 digs.
Other top contributors included McKenzie Smith, one ace, two kills and 16 digs; Brandi Albarado, 16 digs; Alex Thompson, five kills and five digs; Dwanna LeBeau, six kills and six digs; Allie Vincent, one kill, nine assists and two digs; Sh’diamond Holly, two kills, three blocks, one assist and two digs; and Katelyn Gautreaux, seven digs.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City won 2-0 (25-16, 25-21).
Vincent, one ace, one kill, three assists and three digs; while Hannah Gros had one ace and 13 digs.
Other top contributors included Reynaud, two kills, three assists and two digs; Holly, four kills and one dig; Smith, one kill and seven digs; and Kaitlyn Gros, two aces and six digs.
In freshman action, Morgan City fell 2-1 (25-22, 20-25, 8-15).
Morgan City had 11 aces in the win.
Nia Lightfoot and Jolee Nini led Morgan City. Lightfoot had three aces, four kills, one block, one assist and four digs, while Nini had four aces, seven kills, six assists and two digs.
Hannah Prado added three aces, three kills and 12 digs in the win.
Morgan City will return to action today when it travels to face Franklin in district action. However, the game will be played at Centerville. Junior varsity action will begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by varsity at 4:30 p.m. and freshman action at 5:30 p.m.
