City parade signup continues

The City of Franklin’s Christmas parade and lamp-lighting ceremony will be Saturday, Dec. 7.
Line-up for the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the corner of Jackson Street and Main Street. The parade will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
School groups, churches, nonprofit organizations, social groups and veterans are welcome to walk in the parade. People who own golf carts are invited to register their golf carts, to decorate them and drive them in the parade. All participants are asked to sign up by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27.
“Besides the usual things that we have at the Christmas parade, my staff is working on bringing some new activities,” Mayor Raymond Harris Jr. said. “Everyone who attended the Harvest Moon Festival Kick-off really enjoyed the John Gray Jazz Quartet. Well, The Michael Foster Project, which is one of the bands in the Continuum Music family, is a New Orleans-style brass band and will perform that night behind the Blevins building after the lamp-lighting ceremony. I hope that everyone will join us on Dec. 7. We’re planning an event that should be a good time for all.”
