Financial seminars slated

The City of Franklin will offer a series of seven free seminars entitled “Financial Fitness 2014.”
The seminars will be held at the Alex P. Allain Memorial Branch of the St. Mary Parish Library from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights.
Registration will begin Dec. 9 in the Office of Community Development in Franklin City Hall and end when the seminars are full. The maximum for each seminar is 15 people. For more information, contact the Office of Community Development at 337-828-6345 or ashields@franklin-la.com.

—Jan. 15: “Saving and Budgeting” presented by Connie Harris of Teche Federal Bank
—Jan. 22: “Investing” presented by Lyle and Victoria Simoneaux of Edward Jones
—Jan. 29: “Homeownership” presented by Jeffery Beverly of St. Mary/Vermilion Community Action Agency
—Feb. 5: “Insurance” presented by Chip Purpera of State Farm Insurance
—February 19: “Paying for College” presented by Kelly Knight of South Louisiana Community College
—Feb. 26: “Retirement” presented by Lyle and Victoria Simoneaux of Edward Jones
—March 12: “Estate Planning” presented by Scott Ramsey of Ramsey, Skiles and Streva.
