DANDY “DAN” JOSEPH LOUIS

A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Dandy “Dan” Joseph Louis 63, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jeanerette, La. with Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, La.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of services.
A resident of Jeanerette, La., he passed at 2:22 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at Maison Teche Nursing Center, Jeanerette, La.
He was a member of First Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served as a former member of the gospel choir.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Beulah B. Louis of Jeanerette, La., two daughters, Shadell Louis of Jeanerette, La., and Sharell Louis of Houston, Texas, two brothers, Gils White (Deborah) of Houston, Texas, and Lester Hurst Sr. (Phoebe) of Pensacola, Florida, three sisters, Brenda Conner (Kale) of Beaumont, Texas, Constance Hills (Frederick) of Jeanerette, La., and Connie Dorsey (Murray) of Diamondhead, Miss., three godchildren, Cheryl Louis, Lolita Colbert and Gretchen Coleman, six grandchildren, Coty Colbert, Leslie Guerin, Letisha Bowie, Leonard Bowie Jr., Gerald Bowie, and Latoria Bowie, five great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Gibson and Henry Louis Sr. and William Gibson Sr. step-son, Leonard Bowie, sister, Linda Marks, two brothers, Robert G. White Sr. and James Ray Jones Sr., three nieces, Indernetta Gilbert, Monica White, and Dominique Dorsey, nephew, Kevin Charles, maternal grandparents, Shedrick and Pearl Jones, paternal grandparents, Henry Louis and Margaret Louis.
