James Earl Martin
James Earl Martin, born Oct. 19, 1934, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away Sept. 19, 2014, surrounded by family and friends under the care of hospice after a battle with cancer and pulmonary fibrosis at his home in Patterson. James had lived in Jackson, Michigian, for 24 years prior to his moving to Patterson two years ago.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Loretta; brother, Derrell Martin of Minot, North Dakota; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Pat Brennan, of Jackson, Michigan; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Denese Martin, of Patterson; grandson, P.J. Brennan, of Walkill, New York; and granddaughter, Michaela Brennan, of Jackson, Michigan.
He was zealously one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed speaking to others about the blessings of God’s Kingdom. He also loved gardening and farming.
A memorial talk will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 807 Fig St., Morgan City, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.
