Football practice fields are at a standstill, but not for long. Practices will start soon and the first day in pads is set for Aug. 10. Area high school teams will begin with jamboree action.

The Patterson 10U softball All-Stars finished 0-2 in pool play action Tuesday at the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional, falling to Hamburg, Arkansas, and Littlefield, Texas.

Morgan City finished 3-0 this weekend at the District 3 District Tournament at Caffery Park and will meet St. Mary Central today at 5:30 p.m. for the district title.
Tri-City area 10-year-old and 12-year-old Dixie Youth all-star teams will begin district tournament action Thursday at Caffery Park in Franklin.
Byrd’s Cooling and Heating Red Sox participated in Patterson Dixie Youth 7-and 8-year-old baseball action this season.
