Morgan City's upset bid against Westgate falls short

Behind a huge fourth quarter, Westgate spoiled Morgan City High School’s upset bid in their boys’ basketball game at Morgan City Wednesday.

The Morgan City High School Tigers defeated Westgate 80-72 on the road Saturday. The action was the Tigers’ first in nearly two weeks. Jared Singleton, who above plays defense against Central Catholic’s Davidyione Bias during earlier season action, scored 18 points in the victory. Morgan City will return to action Tuesday when it hosts St. Martinville in a 7 p.m. contest. (The Daily Review/Corwin Murray)

Morgan City High School defeated Westgate 80-72 in high school basketball action in New Iberia Saturday.
