Central Catholic moved up two spots in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll as the Eagles now are ranked No. 7.
Patterson High School’s Nehemiah Augustus hauls in a highlight-reel touchdown pass against Hahnville Friday. The score gave Patterson a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Hahnville overpowered Patterson 38-7 Friday, handing the Lumberjacks their second straight loss to open the season.
Morgan City and Central Catholic High schools remained undefeated with week 2 wins Friday.
Central Catholic High School fell to Central Lafourche 3-2 (15-25, 18-25, 28-26, 25-14, 12-15) in volleyball action Tuesday. Quincee Wiggins, above on defense, led the squad with 12 kills and 15 digs. The Lady Eagles will return to action today when they host Lutcher. Junior varsity action is set for a 4:30 p.m. start with varsity to follow. (The Daily Review/Geoff Stoute)
